It’s been a long while since I last wrote a fashion related post and; honestly, I was missing it. That’s why today I wanted to go back to it and talk to you about ruffles and frills; which, as you probably know, are a must of this spring-summer season. Ruffled and frilled pieces are exciting as they can revamp your closet, but they can also be tricky pieces to style.

I fall for trends really easily and this one has been no exception. In the last few weeks I have bought shirts, tops, jackets, and even trousers (please someone stop me!) with ruffles on them. Here are my two cents on how to style them. I hope I can give you some inspiration and ideas so you can start wearing the coolest pieces this summer!

Hacía muchísimo tiempo que no subía un post relacionado con moda, y la verdad es que ya empezaba a echarlo de menos. Es por esto que hoy me he decidido a hablaros sobre los volantes, seguro que ya sabéis que son un must de esta temporada primavera-verano. Las prendas con volantes pueden molar un montón y darle un toque diferente y atrevido a un outfit, pero en algunos casos puede ser difícil encontrar algo que combine con ellas.   

Yo suelo caer siempre en todos los trends de temporada y este no ha sido ninguna excepción. En las últimas semanas he comprado blusas, tops, chaquetas e incluso pantalones con volantes (¡por favor, que alguien me pare!). Aquí os dejo algunos de los conjuntos que se me han ocurrido, espero que os sirva de inspiración y os dé alguna idea para combinar las vuestras. 

The trousers / Los pantalones:

A few weeks ago I bought this pair of trousers in Zara, because they were pink and ruffled I felt excited to kill two birds with one stone by covering two trends of this season in one item. Trying to style them was complicated. I didn’t want to fall in the typical white or black t-shirt; or wear them with a sophisticated top, because I knew it would look too dressed up to wear daily. With those premises I started looking for a floral printed shirt in my wardrobe, tried this one and voilà. I think it looks great, although I should start looking for sleeveless shirts with a similar look if I don’t want to die from a heatstroke during summer in Barcelona.

Hace unas semanas compré estos pantalones de Zara. Puesto que eran de color rosa y tenían volantes sentí que mataba dos pájaros de un tiro al comprarlos, ya que tienen dos de los trends imprescindibles de esta temporada. Al combinarlos, no quería caer en la típica camiseta negra o blanca, ni tampoco añadirle un top muy sofisticado, porque sabía que quedaría demasiado arreglado como para llevarlo cada día. Es por eso que estuve buscando blusas con estampado floral por mi armario, encontré esta y voilà! Me da la sensación de que queda genial, aunque debería empezar a buscar alguna blusa estampada de tirantes que se parezca, porque si no moriré de un golpe de calor en el verano de Barcelona.  

I may have had this blouse from Zara for a few months now, and I have worn it a lot already. Mostly with a pair of black jeans to go to work, which is the first option that I show you. However, I think this blouse has a lot of other options; you can dress it up by adding a pair of brightly colored palazzo pants, as shown in the second picture.

Another idea that comes to mind is combining it with navy gingham trousers (another seasonal trend), I bought a pair just yesterday and I think it should look really cool!    

Creo que compré esta blusa de Zara hace por lo menos dos o tres meses y la he llevado un montón desde entonces. Sobre todo me la suelo poner con pantalones vaqueros para ir a trabajar, que es la primera opción que os enseño. Sin embargo, creo que tiene infinidad de opciones; por ejemplo, puede quedar genial con unos pantalones palazzo de color rosa, creando un look muchísimo más elegante, como os enseño en la segunda foto.

Otra idea que se me ocurre es combinarla con pantalones de cuadrito vichy en azul marino y blanco, que son otro imprescindible de la temporada y puede quedar perfecto.

This nude pink jacket is the perfect option to layer and keep you warm during the chiller mornings and nights. I have worn it a few times already and there hasn’t been one day that I have worn it that I haven’t got a compliment! Everyone seems to love it, and it is honestly the easiest to style, just throw it on top of any outfit and it will work its magic!

Esta chaqueta en tono nude-rosa es la opción perfecta para taparte durante las mañanas y las noches de primavera, que siguen siendo fresquitas. Ya la he llevado unas cuantas veces, y realmente no hay día en que me la ponga y alguien no me diga lo mona que es. Parece que le encanta a todo el mundo y sinceramente, es la prenda más fácil de combinar que existe. Sólo hay que ponerla encima de cualquier conjunto y queda perfecta!
