ADVENTURES IN CALIFORNIA
Hi lovelies!
Yesterday I found my old camera memory card, where I kept thousands of pictures
from a few years ago. Among them, there were the pictures that I took when I travelled
to California in 2014 and I wanted to share them with you.
It was the 28th
of July when we left from Barcelona and landed 16 hours later in San Francisco,
which was probably my favorite city of the trip. Some of the places we visited there
were the Lombard Street, Twin peaks, pier 39, Sausalito and even the Alcatraz
jail, but what I liked the most were the typical picturesque houses and the
steep roads, that gave such a cool vibe to the city. Going from San Francisco
to our next destination, Las Vegas, we had to stop in the Yosemite National
Park and admire its natural beauty (we took some extremely cool pictures there)
and we also drove through the Death Valley National Park, where the
temperatures reached the 110ºF and I thought the death was approaching me.
It was such a
shame I still wasn’t 21 when we went to Las Vegas, so I couldn’t enjoy a gambling
night or a massive party but I enjoyed the feel of the city. From there we
travelled the Grand Canyon, where we experienced one of the most beautiful sceneries ever. The rocks had red, purple, orange and brown tonalities that created
an amazing contrast with the blue of the sky.
Finally we
arrived in LA, where we visited the Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Santa
Monica and Venice beaches, and we even spent a day in the Universal Studios
(can’t recommend it enough). I loved LA, and I hope I can live there someday.
From there I
left to San Diego, where I spent 6 months studying a semester abroad and it was
the best experience of my life (tell me if you would like a post giving some
suggestions and recommendations on studying abroad and living far away from
home).
After
spending half a year in California I can safely say it’s a great place to visit
and live in so don’t ever doubt travelling to California, you will never ever
be disappointed.

¡Hola a todos! Ayer encontré una tarjeta de memoria antigua,
dónde tenÃa guardadas un montón de fotos de hace unos años, y entre ellas se
encontraban las fotos que hice cuando fui de viaje a California en el 2014. ¡Es
por esto que he creado este post para compartirlas con vosotros!
Fue un 28 de Julio cuando dejamos Barcelona para aterrizar 16
horas más tarde en San Francisco, probablemente la ciudad que más me gustó en
todo el viaje. Algunos de los sitios que visitamos fueron la Lombard Street,
Twin Peaks, Pier 39, Sausalito y la cárcel de Alcatraz, sin embargo lo que más
me gustó fueron las casitas de colores y las calles empinadas, que dan el toque
cool y tÃpico a la ciudad. Yendo de San Francisco a nuestro próximo destino,
Las Vegas, tuvimos que hacer una parada obligatoria en el Parque Nacional de
Yosemite y admirar toda su naturaleza (hicimos unas fotos súper chulas) además
también condujimos a través del Parque Nacional del Valle de la Muerte, que es
el sitio del mundo donde se alcanzan las temperaturas más altas, creo que
cuando fuimos nosotros estuvimos a unos 45-50ºC, me entran calores sólo de
pensarlo.
Fue una pena que aún no hubiera cumplido los 21 años cuando
fuimos a Las Vegas ya que no pude disfrutar de una noche de apuestas o de las
grandes fiestas que se montan allÃ, pero sà que pude empaparme de las
sensaciones que desprendÃa la ciudad. De allà fuimos al Gran Cañón del
Colorado, dónde pude disfrutar uno de los paisajes más impresionantes que he
visto en mi vida. Las rocas tenÃan colores rojizos, marrones, naranjas e
incluso lilas que contrastaban increÃblemente con el azul del cielo.
Finalmente llegamos a LA, donde pudimos visitar Rodeo Drive,
el paso de la fama de Hollywood, las playas de Santa Mónica y Venice, y además
pasamos un dÃa en los estudios Universal (¡súper recomendado!). Me encantó LA y
espero poder vivir allà algún dÃa.
Desde allà yo me fui a San Diego, dónde estuve viviendo
durante 6 meses estudiando un semestre en el extranjero, fue sin duda la mejor
experiencia de mi corta vida. (Decidme si queréis que haga un post dedicado a
recomendaciones y sugerencias en cuanto a realizar programas de estudio en el
extranjero y cómo vivir tan lejos de casa).
Después de vivir durante medio año en California puedo
deciros que es un sitio increÃble tanto para vivir como para viajar y que si
estáis pensando en iros de viaje un tiempo y aún no tenéis decidido un destino,
nunca dudéis en iros hacia la costa oeste de los EEUU, no os defraudará.
